Description

1. "Grave Mercy" (His Fair Assassin #1): In this gripping series opener, we are introduced to Ismae Rienne, a young girl who escapes a brutal arranged marriage and finds sanctuary in the convent of St. Mortain, the god of death. There, she is trained as an assassin, honing her skills to become a formidable weapon for the god's will. As she ventures into the treacherous world of 15th-century Brittany, Ismae must navigate deadly court intrigue, political conspiracies, and her growing feelings for a mysterious and powerful man named Gavriel Duval. The line between duty and desire blurs as Ismae must ultimately decide where her loyalties lie.

2. "Dark Triumph" (His Fair Assassin #2): In the second installment, we follow Sybella, another deadly assassin and Ismae's fellow sister in the convent. Haunted by a painful past, Sybella is sent back to her family's castle, which is plagued by cruelty and tyranny. There, she must confront her past traumas while dealing with the dangerous and enigmatic Beast of Waroch. As the web of political intrigue tightens around her, Sybella must choose whether to trust her heart or fulfill her deadly obligations to the convent and her god.

3. "Mortal Heart" (His Fair Assassin #3): The third book centers on Annith, yet another young woman trained as an assassin at St. Mortain's convent. Despite her formidable skills, Annith is denied the opportunity to serve as a handmaiden of death and begins to question the motives of the convent's mother superior. Determined to forge her own destiny, Annith sets off on a daring journey that leads her to confront dangerous enemies and discover the truth about her own heritage.

4. "Courting Darkness" (Courting Darkness #1): The "Courting Darkness" series, a spin-off of "His Fair Assassin," begins with this compelling novel. It follows two new protagonists: Sybella's younger sister, Genevieve, and Ismae's friend, the lady-in-waiting, Maraud. As the political landscape becomes even more precarious, Genevieve and Maraud find themselves entangled in a dangerous plot to protect the Duchess of Brittany. Their loyalty and trust are tested as they navigate deception, treachery, and forbidden romance.

5. "Igniting Darkness" (Courting Darkness #2): In the thrilling conclusion to the "Courting Darkness" series, Genevieve and Maraud must face their most challenging and dangerous mission yet. As their world teeters on the brink of war, they must confront powerful enemies, make difficult choices, and find the strength to stand against overwhelming odds. The fate of Brittany and its people hangs in the balance, and their actions will determine the course of history.
