Once
Felix lives in a Catholic orphanage in Poland during World War II and believes his parents left him there to keep him safe. When rumours begin to circulate, Felix runs away to find them, beginning a brave and heartbreaking journey through a dangerous world. Told with warmth and innocence, this powerful opening story introduces readers to the Holocaust through a child’s hopeful eyes.

Then
Now on the run, Felix must rely on his courage and quick thinking to survive. As the dangers of war close in, he learns painful truths about loss, fear, and friendship. Then is a tense and emotional continuation that shows how hope can survive even in the darkest moments.

Now
Felix is rescued and taken to Australia, far from the horrors of Europe. But escaping the war doesn’t mean leaving it behind. Haunted by memories of what he has seen, Felix struggles to find peace and understand who he is in a new land. This book explores trauma, survival, and healing.

After
As Felix grows older, he begins to rebuild his life while carrying the weight of his past. He searches for meaning, justice, and a sense of belonging in a post-war world. After is thoughtful and moving, showing how survival is only the beginning of the journey.

Maybe
Now a father, Felix reflects on his life and the choices he has made. Memories of the past mix with hopes for the future as he tries to protect his children from the pain he once endured. This deeply reflective story explores love, responsibility, and the lasting impact of history.

Soon
Felix faces new challenges as the world continues to change around him. As an older man, he reflects on time, memory, and the importance of stories. Soon is a gentle and emotional reminder that the past shapes who we are, but hope still lies ahead.

Always
The final book brings Felix’s journey full circle. Looking back on his life, he celebrates love, resilience, and the power of kindness. Always is a heartfelt and hopeful conclusion to this remarkable series, reminding readers that even after unimaginable hardship, humanity and compassion endure.
